2018 brought a facelift (refresh) to the sixth-generation Mustang (S550) — updated front & rear styling: lower hood and grille, reshaped fascia, slimmer headlights, LED lighting standard.
V6 base engine was dropped. The lineup starts with the EcoBoost 2.3-L turbo 4-cylinder as the base.
Higher horsepower in the V8 GT: the 5.0-L Coyote V8 was upgraded (new direct + port fuel injection, better flow, higher redline) to produce ~ 460 hp / 420 lb-ft.
New 10-speed automatic transmission option introduced (in addition to the 6-speed manual) for both EcoBoost and GT models.
More tech & creature comforts: available digital 12-inch LCD instrument cluster with customizable modes, driver-assist features (lane-keeping, pre-collision with pedestrian detection, etc.), improvements to suspension, and optional MagneRide adaptive dampers with Performance Pack.
