MANUAL VS. AUTOMATIC

The main difference between them 2 is that manual vehicles have 3 pedals; The brake, accelerator and the clutch. The driver presses the clutch while manually changing between the gears while Automatic cars have a shifter and also change gears but do so automatically. Basically automatic cars will be easier to maneuver and more comfortable, while manual transmissions are less expensive and more involved.

AUTOMATIC VEHICLES.

PROS.

  • Easier to drive.

  • Can be more reliable than manual.

  • Modern automatic vehicles are more efficient than manual equivalents.

  • Reduced risk of stalling.

  • Easier to use in heavy Traffic.

CONS.

  • More expensive

  • Repairs are more complex and expensive.

  • Older models, automatic vehicles are less efficient than manuals.

  • Passing your test in an automatic vehicle, will only let you drive automatic.

MANUAL VEHICLES.

PROS.

  • Manual driving license allows you to drive both type of vehicles.

  • Manuals are more common than automatic transmissions in other parts of the world.

  • Some people find them more "interesting" to drive.

CONS.

  • Mastering the stick can be difficult to do.

  • Manual are less efficient than modern/newer automatic vehicles.
